Volunteer Center Changes Policies in Response to COVID-19

As of Monday, March 16, FAKH will only allow scheduled adult volunteer groups at the Volunteer Center, 300 Peterson Drive, Elizabethtown. This change is in effect until further notice due to COVID-19 or Coronavirus.

For safety precautions, walk-in individuals and families, including children under the age of 18, are not allowed to come into the Volunteer Center at this time.

Adult volunteer groups already on the schedule are encouraged to keep their committment as the BackPack program and Senior Box program must be continued. FAKH is also seeking adult volunteer groups, preferably 10-15 adults, to work an additional line to box non-perishable foods, which will be distributed with the BackPack bags and Senior Boxes.

“We understand this is an inconvenience to individual and families who would like to volunteer to help others during this critical time,” said Jamie Sizemore, FAKH Executive Director. “However, our priorities must be with our staff, partner agencies, and volunteers to keep all safe while still making sure food is distributed to those in need.”

Adult volunteer groups who can assist during regular volunteer hours, Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-7 p.m. or with the added line, Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-11 a.m. or 1 p.m.-3 p.m., should contact the Volunteer Center at volunteer@feedamerica.com or 270-735-1407.
