Jan. 30, 2025 – Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland (FAKH) is inviting community members to join the fight against hunger through its Supper Club Giving Society, a program that provides a sustainable and impactful way to support neighbors in need. With recurring monthly donations at any amount, members of the Supper Club help fund programs that ensure equitable access to nutritious food so no one goes hungry in Kentucky’s Heartland.
Every donation to FAKH is an investment into the lives of neighbors across the organization’s 42-county service area. In fact, 98% of every donation directly funds feeding programs to alleviate hunger across the region.
“Members of our Supper Club are dedicated supporters committed to fighting hunger in our region through a sustainable, easy and consistent giving method,” said Charles Dennis, Executive Director of Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland. “Their reliable gifts provide a foundation for Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland to reach thousands of individuals and families across our 42-county service area, delivering the healthy food they need to thrive.”
Hue Catalona of Elizabethtown, a proud member of the Supper Club and dedicated volunteer with FAKH, embodies the spirit of giving that drives the organization’s fight against food insecurity. As a two-time cancer survivor and immigrant to the U.S., Catalona said she never imagined she would one day be in a position to give back. Yet, she said her involvement with FAKH has been both deeply rewarding and a source of connection, allowing her to make a meaningful impact in the community she now calls home.
“Volunteering and donating are my way of giving back,” she said. “At FAKH, I feel useful, like I am part of a larger community doing tremendous things for others. That helps to give me purpose.”
Within the FAKH service area, one in six individuals face food insecurity. For children, this figure is one in five. FAKH works every day to change these numbers through the support of donors, volunteers and community partners. In addition to monthly contributions through the Supper Club, supporters of FAKH can also give through one-time donations, annual or quarterly contributions and through planned giving.
