As much as we don’t like to admit it, there’s a point in everyone’s life when we have to ask for help. It could be something simple, like asking someone to help you unload your car or check your mail while you’re on vacation. But for many individuals and families in our region, this ask is a much harder one.
43% of clients have reported receiving help from their friends or family.
This means that each year, more than 75,000 people served by our partner agencies have to ask for help in meeting their own food needs and those of their family. As humans, and especially adults, it is often times hard for us to ask for the help we need, no matter how small the challenge may be. Therefore, it is hard to imagine what it must feel like to know that asking for help is no longer a choice – it’s a necessity.
Luckily, they don’t have to rely solely on their friends and family members for adequate nutrition. With the help of 200 partner agencies we work with in 42 Kentucky counties, more than 12 million meals were provided to those in need last year. Together we can work to make things better for those in our region. Check out the “Take Action” tab to see how you can help today!
