October 11, 2017 – State Street Baptist Church in Bowling Green is just one of our partner agencies in Warren County that works hard to distribute food to those in their community. Each month their food pantry provides assistance to over 65 families who are struggling to meet one of life’s basic necessities.
Bowling Green native, Stephanie Jewell, has been involved with the local agency for over 10 years. In addition to working full time at a bakery, Stephanie also runs the food pantry at the church. She is responsible for placing orders, making sure the pantry is stocked and organized, and distributing it to those in need. When asked what she enjoys most about her role she responded, “I just like helping people. For some it is a last resort and it’s nice to know you can help them.”
But Stephanie and those at State Street Baptist Church provide more than just food assistance to those in their area. The agency also offers rent assistance, bill payment assistance, and other services when funds are available. “To see the look on their faces when we are able to help them is so rewarding,” says Stephanie.
