WKU graduate takes on additional role in the community

Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland (FAKH) announced a new Board of Directors appointment. Shannon Clark of Warren County will serve on the organization’s Board of Directors for the next six years, helping to advance FAKH’s vision of providing equitable access to nutritious food so that no one in the region will go hungry.

Clark is a native of Owensboro, Kentucky, and graduated top of her class from Grayson County High School in 2000.

She graduated with honors from Western Kentucky University in 2005 with a B.S. degree in Design and Merchandising. Clark has worked for Houchens Food Group, Inc. since 2019, and currently serves as Director of Brand and Marketing.

“Shannon not only brings a wealth of food industry knowledge but also key marketing expertise to FAKH,” said Jamie Sizemore, FAKH executive director. “She has a real passion for serving food insecure families who struggle at times to put food on the table. We are thrilled to have a third board member from Warren County, the largest populated county in our service area.”

Clark said she is excited to utilize her experience and skills to help tell the story of food insecurity across the Heartland.

“With my background in the food industry and marketing expertise, I am eager to help raise awareness about food insecurity in our region and work towards finding sustainable solutions along with my fellow board members,” she said.
