Join the #FoodRescue Movement

Each day, we have the opportunity to make a significant impact on reducing food waste. Each year Americans collectively discard an astonishing 133 BILLION pounds of food – that’s like each person throwing away one pound of food every single day. However, food banks like Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland (FAKH) are rescuing perishable food through partnerships with farmers, distributors, grocers and restaurants which then feeds our neighbors.

In the last fiscal year alone, FAKH rescued and redistributed an 3.2 MILLION pounds of food. This translated to 2.5 million meals for our neighbors facing hunger in the Heartland. Food Rescue not only reduces harmful waste but also has a positive impact on food insecurity and providing nourishment to those in need.

Join us this #earthmonth on a Food Rescue run and witness how we’re making a difference by cutting food waste and feeding our community. Together, we are turning this environmental problem into an opportunity for good.

Without adequate funding we would not be able to rescue food from our retail partners to then distribute to our neighbors facing hunger and thus thousands of pounds of food would go to waste. You can help us make a difference for our community today, donate to support the Food Rescue Program.
