This Holiday season
Take part in Hunger Never Takes a Holiday – a special volunteer event to bring joy and comfort to our neighbors facing hunger. On December 14, 2024, come to the Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland Volunteer Center, where we’ll work together to pack food resources for seniors and children in our local community.
What to Expect:
- Holiday Sweater Competition: Wear your coziest, craziest or most festive holiday sweater (or shirt) for a chance to win prizes!
- Festive Music & Sweet Treats: Enjoy holiday tunes and treats as we pack boxes or nourishing food for our neighbors.
- Community Spirit: Bring your friends, family or colleagues – together, we can make a meaningful difference.
Tickets are free but a $5 donation per person is encouraged. Let’s spread holiday cheer and show that we’re all in this together – because hunger never takes a holiday.

Hunger Never Takes a Holiday
The holiday season should be a time of joy, warmth and sharing. For many of us, preparing holiday meals brings memories of love. But for some of our neighbors, the rising cost of groceries and higher utility bills make it difficult to afford even the basics.
Michelle, a mom of three, faces this reality daily, doing her best to provide for her family amidst financial challenges and unaffordable childcare. With support from local food programs, families like hers are able to share a meal and create memories together.
