2024 TEFAP Income Guidelines

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) works with food banks, like Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland (FAKH) to help people experiencing poverty and food insecurity make ends meet.

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a monthly program available to those experiencing hunger in our service area that fall within a certain income range. FAKH and our network of agency partners are required to ask individuals seeking assistance at TEFAP distributions questions about their monthly income and the number of people in their household. The income self attest is a simple yes or no question, and no paperwork, paystub(s) or benefits statement(s) is required. However, proof of residency within the county offering the program, such as a Driver’s License or piece of mail is required.

Below is a graphic that shows the current USDA income guidelines. The graphic breaks down the monthly income limit for households having up to eight people. For households with more than eight people simply add $830 for each additional person to the monthly income limit.
